Feeling Creative?

Even as I sit down to type, I question my ability to make this post interesting and attention-getting. Can I change the font, play with different titles?  What creative endeavors do you find time for in your own life and what about your children?   In an article authored by Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman for the July edition of Newsweek, they report a decline in America’s creativity.  The Creativity Crisis, makes a compelling case for encouraging CQ (Creativity Quotient) in children right alongside their IQ (Intelligence Quotient).  It is a topic near and dear my heart as we watch even the youngest of children pushed into learning environments that only focus on memorization without an understanding of the concepts and a chance to manipulate things and ideas along the way.  With school beginning soon, now is a perfect time to seek out some creative experiences and activities for you and your child!
